Typically, only a few treatments are needed however depending on the condition, several treatments may be required to achieve desired results. Most people experience a mild, sun-burn like sensation, possibly accompanied by some minor swelling, immediately following the treatment. This usually lasts 2 to 24 hours. Work with your provider to discuss other possible side-effects and the necessary post-treatment care.

It is common to experience an initial darkening of the brown pigment already present in the treated areas for up to 2 weeks. With time, the treated areas flake off the skin to reveal new, healthy skin with a more even tone.

The most common treatment areas take 30 minutes or less.
